Get Involved

Motorcycle Collective is a registered New Zealand charity (CC59600). Our equipment and some events are funded by donations (thanks Movember and DGR!). Our operating expenses are funded by memberships.

How to Get Involved

Use Our Workshop!
Anyone can come and hang out at Motorcycle Collective for free. Members can use the workshop to work on their personal motorcycle.

Become a member then use our bookings page to book some workshop time!

Become a Member
Your membership is the best way to support us and continue the mission of Motorcycle Collective. It also gets you free use of the workshop, access to member only booking times and invitation to member only events.

Events
Organise an event with our facilities or attend one of many social events we’re planning. Come learn about motorcycles, make new friends, hang out and find someone to talk to. Anyone can come along to see what we are all about.

Sponsor or Support Us
We’re seeking places to operate from, grants for operational costs, donations of specific tools that we need and consumable items.

If you can help, we’ll shout your name from the rooftops!

Volunteer
Is there such a thing as too much help? We’re a community effort and if you are keen to be involved, let us know here.

We need help with running events, operating our workshop and creating new connections, big or small.

Our Values

Everyone is expected to leave the facilities better than they found them. Work hard to to create something special.

We work together for the benefit of everyone. No matter the brand you ride or background you come from, if you’re ready to be part of a team effort then you are welcome.

We work safe, ride safe and treat each other with respect, even if we disagree. There’s no such thing as a stupid question and no shame in asking.

More about our values…

What Mechanical Work Can I Do?

Our workshop and tools are great for doing things like an oil change, brake pads, fitting accessories, chain maintainance or installing a new air filter. If it only takes an hour or two and doesn’t involve opening or removing the motor then it could be a great project to do with us. When we find a permanent home, longer projects may be possible.

You must be able to take any removed parts and large rubbish with you, but we can dispose of small items, waste fluids and rags.

How is it Organised?
  • Financial and governance responsibilities are handled by three directors (unpaid).
  • Major decisions and projects are advised on and undertaken by the core advisors group. These are volunteers who have shown a strong commitment to the vision of Motorcycle Collective.
  • Day to day operations are handled by our volunteers, the Operations Manager and Consultant Mechanic.
